Hi,

I often see a pop-up Information box message from MC15 Library client saying when I double-click on a file to play that file.

"Media Center encountered errors while trying to play the last several files. Please make sure that the path in your media library points to the right location".

Typically, I hit OK and double-click on that file again and the file plays just fine. Any idea what could I do to fix this?

Thanks,
Osho

This could be a bandwidth issue.  There's specific amount of time that MC will wait for the file to be retrieved from the network.  Is the file already in mp3 format or is it being converted prior to being streamed by UPNP?
Is this on a wired lan network, or wifi, or over the internet?
Staff will want the answers to those I'm sure.

This happens for both flac and mp3 formats. This is accessing from Internet - I usually have no problems once the file starts playing.

Is there any place here I can increase the time-out latency? Is it same as the Skip buffer for audio playback?

Thanks,

No, I think the programmers have to adjust it.
I occasionally get a song that gets skipped like that when I play at work over the internet.
Maybe 5 out of 100 songs.

zxsix - you must have good internet at where you work :). For me, I get skipped like that 5 out of 10.

I get 10Mbps upstream at home on cable and I get 3Mbps download at work.
I'm betting the upstream portion is that part that's getting you.
Maybe Matt can bump the timeout by 5 or 10 seconds in a beta build and see if that helps.
(or make it an option like the buffering)

Additional info on my case...

On the MC Server, when a song gets skipped on the client, I don't see any reference to the skipped track on the server's UPNP display.  No line that starts "client requested....blah blah".
