iZotope media player plugin
« on: May 19, 2005, 11:56:27 am »

I have been using my iZotope media player pluging (for WMA and Winamp) in MC10, however,
I have not been able to get it to work with MC11.
Have tried the Direct X but it is not a DirectX imput program.
Any suggestions helpful.
Thanks
Gary

by using the following reg hack, you can get the WMP ozone plugin to show up in the list of available directx plugins for the directx host in MC, and you can add it to your chain.  All WMP dsp plugins are just DMO's (directshow media objects).

unfortunately, it will not process the audio in MC.  there may be a way to get it to work correctly.  It works fine for directshow players such as zoom player.

Code: [Select]
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\DirectShow\MediaObjects\E47D4B99-3EF0-40f7-977C-BC24F24137BD]
@="Ozone WMP"
"InputTypes"=hex:61,75,64,73,00,00,10,00,80,00,00,aa,00,38,9b,71,01,00,00,00,\
  00,00,10,00,80,00,00,aa,00,38,9b,71
"OutputTypes"=hex:61,75,64,73,00,00,10,00,80,00,00,aa,00,38,9b,71,01,00,00,00,\
  00,00,10,00,80,00,00,aa,00,38,9b,71

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\DirectShow\MediaObjects\Categories\f3602b3f-0592-48df-a4cd-674721e7ebeb\E47D4B99-3EF0-40f7-977C-BC24F24137BD]

the DirectX Host plugin is based on Adapt-X.  They also make a direct-x plug-in host for Winamp.  I have tested the above method, and it works fine in Winamp using Adapt-X.  The Ozone for WMP plugin can be registered as a DMO, you can add it to your Adapt-X chain, and you will get full signal processing (of course this isn't necessary as there is an Ozone specically made for Winamp, but it can still be done)

You can also get any other WMP dsp plugin to work in Adapt-X using this method.  For example, the Dee2 WMP plugin:

    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

    [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\DirectShow\MediaObjects\C09682CE-B8D7-4e6b-A977-4D7C1B7597E6]
    @="Dirty Dee2"
    "InputTypes"=hex:61,75,64,73,00,00,10,00,80,00,00,aa,00,38,9b,71,01,00,00,00,\
      00,00,10,00,80,00,00,aa,00,38,9b,71
    "OutputTypes"=hex:61,75,64,73,00,00,10,00,80,00,00,aa,00,38,9b,71,01,00,00,00,\
      00,00,10,00,80,00,00,aa,00,38,9b,71

    [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\DirectShow\MediaObjects\Categories\f3602b3f-0592-48df-a4cd-674721e7ebeb\C09682CE-B8D7-4e6b-A977-4D7C1B7597E6]
    [/list]

    Don't know why the DirectX Host in MC does not accept this.

    I am bringing this up again, because in MC15 this great plugin sort of works by loading the version written for winamp 5. Unfortunately I does not save all settings done during a session, so for example the intro screen is always shown.  Also there seems to be no way to get rid of the built in micro navigation for winamp.

    This plugin really would be worth a better integration with the best pc-based mediaplayer on the market.
