I am using Win2Kp and have turned off 8.3 name generation via Registry and have done so since NT was in beta. Question to JRiver is: Why does it insist on a 8.3 name when burning? Easy CD Creator 4 & 5 has no problems here and names them on the fly (cda1, cda2.....) but it doesn't support the ogg format. This glitch is common to MJ 7&8. Thanks.

You're doing a data format CD right? The Goldenhawk component of our burning software requires the 8.3 names to exist. You could check the "use generic driver" option in CD Writer settings and it should work.
Let us know if you're doing an audio format CD because that message shouldn't show up in that case.

No - trying to burn audio format CD's - haven't tried data format.
I will try the "use generic driver" option. But this applies to the data format only, right?

When trying to burn audio CD's the 8.3 error box comes up twice.
On screen it shows the files to be burnt and their status as queued.
Proceeding further brings up "no files to burn"

Do you know if the Goldenhawk will be updated to automatically create 8.3 names? The NT system does this as well as the
Adaptec/Roxio software.

Thanks for reporting this. MJ shouldn't care about this if you're doing an audio burn. This bug is fixed for the next release (something greater than 8.0.308).
