Author Topic: Can't Pass audio straight thru to DacMagic using Realtek HD Audio [Solved]  (Read 2856 times)

I cannot figure out how to get audio files to play in their native resolution (sample rate, bit depth).

My System configuration is:

Windows 7 Based computer with integrated RealTek HD Audio chipset and playback by MC17 (of course).

S/PDIF digital output to a Cambridge Audio DAC Magic to Yahama A/V Receiver.

The RealTek Audio driver allows you to set output sample rate (which I currently have set at 96KHz), but does not allow you to select pass thru or none, so it appears that everything is upsampled to 96KHz using the integrated audio.

I've tried installing ASIOv2 and configure for use in MC17 with no luck.

Any suggestions for bypassing the integrated audio to allow native playback would be greatly appreciated.

Try setting bitstreaming on.  It's under settings for video.

Try WASAPI Event Style under audio settings.

I had tried WASAPI previously and it didn't work, so didn't try WASAPI Event Style. I was surprised when I tried it, that I could see the Sample Rate LEDs change on the DAC Magic. The sound was much cleaner. Thanks for the fix.
