Dos command to handle Media Center
« on: November 13, 2010, 01:15:49 pm »

Media center use to have a dos command that could be used to control Media Center.
Like mc12.exe /mcc 10003,0 would skip to the next song. Can this still be done with mc15?

Thanks
Marcel

An interesting historical fact: we originally put the launcher in the system folder because RealPlayer would steal file associations with a background daemon (like once a minute) if something that wasn't in the system folder was set as the program to handle a media extension.

I don't know if they still do this sort of thing, but we have carried the practice forward in part because it's convenient for mc15.exe to be in the default execution path so that it can be run quickly without worrying about pathing.
