QUICK question: DVD library images
« on: November 06, 2010, 10:36:09 pm »

Hi,

I have just spent months converting all of my CDs to flac for use with JRiver. I love that the cover art comes up and is a part of the meta data. For about 100CDs I had to scan the covers and attach them myself.

Now I am onto the DVD library. I want everything to run exactly as if I put them in a DVD player. I want all of the special features and options. For this reason, I thought it would be best to import as Video_TS etc. Does this sound right?

ALSO, and here is the quick question, will I get cover art like with my CDs or will I have to scan all of the covers in? I want to be able to scroll through the covers like with my CDs.

What is the best program for ripping DVDs. Something similar to dbpoweramp.

Over to you clever people: comments, suggestions, etc etc.

Scott

I want to get this right before I start ripping...

I import the Video_TS's.  I use DVDFab's decrypter part to just copy them to disk.
I then have a link on my Films view which goes to Google Images and allows me to just click on a HQ poster to download it.

I will warn you Video_TS's do take up alot of space, especially if you start adding Series box sets to the mix.
