line in vinyl recording probs

I tried the free trial MJ for putting vinyl onto computer from a quality turntable and was impressed, so I bought MJ. Ever since then I've had no success at all with the transfers. When I play back the file even before MP3 encoding, i.e WAV, there are jumps and hesitations. It worked fine on the trial! What's gone wrong?

What version of MJ?

Also look for background tasks that might be causing problems. Virus checkers, automatic backup programs (e.g. "GoBack"), etc. There's no difference in the recording process between the trial and purchased versions. Which version of MJ are you using?
