Theater view and /Control/Key?Key=Right Left Up Down etc
« on: May 18, 2011, 05:31:34 pm »

Hi,

I've tried to control theater view using the Webservice for the command '/Control/Key'. Sending a Left or Right does not lead to my expectation that I can navigate in the theater view. Did I interpret this correct and have I found a bug or does it work differently?

Regards

What does the server respond with?

Does it work making the request from a web browser?

I don't remember for sure, but you may need an authenticated connection (i.e. enable authentication in Media Network options) to control the keyboard remotely.

Hi Matt,

Thanks for the reply. I guess that I'm slowly slipping into the Access Keys topic here ;-) I don't quite understand how this should work yet. I've implemented the 'Authenticate' and the server sends me a Token back. I see a Token in the Options too. I guess I need to send that token to the server?

I've found the problem. I didn't add the 'Focus=1' to the command. As soon as I added that it started working.

Matt,

I would really appreciate you taking some time to explain me how this works.
