I agree.  I've settled on my own.  MC makes it very easy to maintain your database.  When I rip a CD I set it up in directories artist\album\songs & artwork.  I don't include the artists name, track# or album in the name.  It is easy to meld these to get if you want to put some songs on an ipod.  This way, my database is very clean to view and each field is clear of other info.  This way I can sort on a song name and find every copy of that song in my database regardless of who the artist is.  This helps me determine which copy I listen to and the others I give a 1 star rating that means ir really sux or it is an inferior duplicate.  I find the quality on original albums generally to be better than the compilations.
