It looks like England will be playing Denmark in the next round. It'll be a tough game for England -- we'll have to play like we did against Argentina to win, but we can do it under pressure. Sayonara Denmark!

I can't imagine a Denmark and Sweden final in the World Cup (eventhough I know anything is possible in football). What a bore that will be. A bunch of robots playing the ball around; totally uninspiring and damaging to the game. Unlike teams like Croatia, Portugal, all the African teams, Brazil, South Korea or even Spain who possess flair, individual talent and creativity that really brighten up the game. Germany is another boring team who, like Denmark, is very mechanical and relies mostly on their physical advantage. The "ugly" European teams or Scandinavian teams that doesn't care for anything except winning the World Cup, threads as close as possible to breaking the rule without breaking them, that's how they usually do it. God, Please don't let the Germans dominate the game again, I can't help falling asleep when I wtch them play. (But Beyern Leverkusen is an exception!) For the sake of soccer, let's hope the finals is won with style and class like how the great Brazilians and the English have done it in the 60s and early 70s.

Football? I thought football had 375 pound gorillas wearing helmets, and other assorted body armor, while trying to stuff some poor SOB into the turf. ESPECIALLY those from the east of the Mississippi river with goofy team names like ...

Packers
Lions
Etc., etc.

Machinehead

The Americans definitely must have stolen the name, and turned it into something else only "gorillas" would enjoy. Those who enjoy watching are spared though, I think.

The game in mind brings people of all nations together, just like the Olympics. Heard of the Olympics? You must have coz USA is dominent in it. But not so at the World Cup, until recently maybe. Blame the media, or the hype. Its time you learn more coz the rest of the world cannot be entirely wrong. No harm trying...

Well, USA is in for the next round, even on a bad loss (1:3) to Poland.
Portugal failed to propel itself, loosing to S. Korea 0:1, which allowed
USA to advance.  Had Portugal scored at least one, they would have advanced.

Strange game this soccer (football)

We Americans wouldn't dream of such behavior. Now if you don't mind, I'd like to get back to eating my Croissanwich Next Page

On the serious side

Do you know the origine of american football?

There is irish football that you play with hand, foot. The goals are like a rugby one.
But you can score or inside the bottom square, like football or on the top like in rugby

The only difference is that in irish football ,you play non stop, not like in american football
