Congrats to the USA team at the World Cup Finals. I was really impressed by the way your lads played against one of the favourite teams Portugal.  It was a great game and an excellent start for them. I am hoping that my team England can play a lot better in their next game against Argentina on Friday. Here's hoping.

OK, I can admit a defeat... I'm portuguese and wasn't exactly thrilled with USA's victory but hey, that's football - or should I say soccer? Next Page - so congratulations.

Anyway, I just want to say that's not half of what Portugal can do, as most of you who like soccer probably know, but if we keep playing like this we'll surely lose every match... We'll have a hard time qualifying for the next round as it is! So a little support would really be appreciated Next Page

Hell, this is the only way our country can get known!
Go Portugal!!!

Sergio.                                                                                        Take heart, I thought that Portugal played some excellent football too, and also, most teams would have dropped their heads being three down, your lads fought to the last second. A lot will be learned from this game. I think USA will be taken seriously now.

Yes, it was a good match.. but I've enjoyed more the game where Italy won over Equador... I know I know I'm biased

I must admit that the USA match today was one of the best so far.

Well done indeed.
Did you catch the last minute goal from Ireland against Germany.
So they are still in with a chance.

Ps Sérgio I am visiting Lisbon next week for a week to the Tango Fest.
Estefânea Club: Street Alexander Braga mostly here if your local.

JohnC, Cmagic, claudio, RhinoBanga: Thanks for your support, people! Next Page

Cmagic: well, maybe not JUST football, but little else... Many people still think Portugal is a province of Spain :\
Anyway, when we take over the world, everyone will know who we are! MWAHAHAHAHA!!! (Don't get scared, I'm kidding Next Page )

Smiler: very nice of you to visit us! I didn't know about that Tango festival... It's not my kind of music anyway :\ I know where Estefânia is, although I don't travel much within Lisbon. I mostly just go to my university there, Instituto Superior Técnico (something like Technical "Advanced" Institute, where "Advanced" denotes the level of education, college, why am I saying this? I get carried away sometimes). It's like the Portuguese MIT, lol. I'm gonna be a "Computer Engineer" (bad, bad translation). I'll be able to do anything, from programming, to network assembly/administration, managing/assembling of computer systems, bla bla bla.
Anyway, back to tango, I hope you have a very nice time and come visit us often! Ask me if you need to know something.

Hehe, I should say it was a bit better Next Page

Still, we have to beat South Korea to qualify for sure :/ ... It's gonna be tough.
I mean, we could not win and still qualify, but that will only happen if USA doesn't beat Poland.
Anyway, we'll see...

Best luck to all (especially Portugal Next Page)!

Hi Sergio

I don't think Poland could beat a school team at the moment. I thought that their performance against Portugal was so under par. On the bright side England were great, I hope that they can play the same against Nigeria on Wednesday.
I have not seen any support from the Americans in this group for their team, which apparently is the norm back in the USA, football or soccer as they call it is a minor sport, unless of course they were to win the World Cup. Perhaps they might notice that they have a team then.? Anyway best wishes to your team in the next match.
