cd will not play more than one song at a time
« on: June 01, 2002, 06:34:08 am »

hey guys...searched but didn't find any answers to this question: since I upgraded to 8.0.265, I have not been able to listen to any CD more than one track at a time. MP3s added to playing now all seem to work fine as do video files. Why not the CD player? CDDB works, but I have to manually add each song to "Playing Now" and even then, it will only play them one at a time. I've been through all options, so is this a bug? Please advise. Thanks for providing such a great product at such a decent price.

regards ~

>> Why not the CD player?
It does, add the songs to playing now

you can mark all at once and send them all to playing now by "Edit", "Select All" Or Highlight The Fist File, Hold Shift, Then Select The Last File

or

you can go to settings, options, and general, behavior, combo box "play button" select "Play Visible Files (all)"

I've done that...from multiple ways. right click, etc...it should just start playing automatically. everyother media player I've ever had, including MJv7.0, MS Media Player, WinAmp, and MusicMatch Jukebox.

Any other suggestions?

Thanks in advance!

FROM THE HELP FILE

Play Audio CDs

Insert the CD into your CD-ROM drive.

If "associate with audio CDs" is selected your audio CD will automatically play. If it isn't, simply click on the drive containing the audio CD.
If auto insert notification for that drive is enabled, the contents of your device will be updated automatically. If not, press F5 to update the contents.

Note: I However have not been able to get auto play to work

Still no luck...I've upgraded to version 8.0.293, changed the playback output to 16 bit (per another post I saw)...and auto insert notification is turned on. Again, I didn't have this issue with v.7. It is only since I upgraded. It works fine in Windows Media Player...don't make me go back to that! MJ is SOOOOOOO much better.

Any other advice?

I don't have the problem that wannabejedi has in playing more than one song at a time.  However, I do share the problem of auto updating and auto play not working.  As Wannabejedi confirmed for his system, I have auto-insert notification enabled for both my DVD and CD-RW drives.  MJ is associated with both drives.  However, I have to press F5 for either drive to update when a cd in inserted or removed and the cd does not automatically play. I don't remember if this function worked in previous builds.
