The new feature in smartlists, introduced recently that the drop down boxes in the rules only shows "relevant" names confuses me.  I have A LOT of Smartlists that have 2 rules: Artist=X OR, album=Y.  I used to be able to add albums or artists to these smartlists with ease but, now that only the relevant names show, when I go back to add an artist or album, well, I can't.  The artist has to be already in the list (or, on an included album) to be in the drop down lists.  See what I'm saying?  This is weird.  It was SO much better before when the relevant names were listed first and the all the rest of the names were listed after that.  Then I could add any album or, artist from the database.  Now once a smartlist is made, it pretty much can't be changed.  Am I doing something wrong or, what?  This does not seem like it's better to me.  Does anyone else have a problem with this?

The editor seems pretty borked at the moment.  Try using Import/Export and manual specify the rules.

Thanks for the reply MrC.  I have tried the import thing and had problems with it.  Plus, it's just too much trouble.  I may go back to vers. 0.81 until this gets fixed (which I hope is soon).  I just can't go through a whole 3 day weeked without being to tinker with my Smartlists.

Is that what this is? I fricken hate it. I had several smart lists that I noticed suddenly had my options "missing". I thought I was going out of my mind. One uses a custom field called "chart" and now instead of having my nice delimited list of Charts - when I click on Chart - I just see the one chart that was used when I built the list.

I even went as far as rechecking all my fields, changing them around and generally wasting a ton of time. Now I finally get it.

Who thought that removing all the options was a good idea? What if I want to change my list on the fly? Now I have to type in all my chart names separated by semi-colons. "PITA" is a phrase that comes to mind.....

PLEASE change this back to allowing ALL field choices to be available via dropdown if that field has one in the db.

The change is recent - around build 88/87.  I can't help but, wonder what possible perceived advantage there is to this change.

Well - after struggling with it for the last few days - I am hoping MC dev will consider returning it to it's former usage.

This change pretty much removes any "smarts" from smartlist and simply turns it into a normal playlist.

DEV: any comments?
