I am a big fan of MC15, and have got it working well on a Sony viao W7 64 bit with optical out, to the point where it has replaced my Cyrus CDP some time ago as my music source. I have no desire to use MC yet for anything other than a music streamer, and want the best possible audio signal. What benefit is there in upgrading from 15 to 16 from an audiophile point of view, the MC16 New features quote:
The Ultimate Audiophile Solution
MC16 has bit perfect playback. Now with improved support for power
amplifiers, bi-amping, subwoofer calibration, and more. MC's new audio
engine is 64-bit floating point, providing four billion times more
precision than the previous 32-bit engine.
I was under the impression that MC15 already did this too. The DSP features enhancement are of little interest, as I never use it, my room is what it is and I prefer accuracy rather than tonal shaping. If there are improvements in the accuracy of the data presented to the DAC then I'll happily upgrade, but I can't find anything in a quick search of the threads that confirms this.
Thanks!
