Last week...
We picked the last of the first crop of Meyer Lemons, about 200 of them. We did some heavy pruning, so it only produced about 500 this year. It's gearing up for the next crop.
The grapefruit tree is in production, with large, heavy fruit. Picked about 1/2 dozen last weekend. I'm not certain of the variety; it gets pinkish on top, but not quite a Ruby I think. I'll post photos of the fruit if anyone can help identify.
We also emptied one orange tree, picking the last of the perhaps 150 oranges. The other orange tree (a naval, which ripens later) is continuing its streak of increased annual production.
We had a couple of smallish peach trees, but they had a leaf curl problem, were too shaded, and were useless, in my opinion (fruit wasn't spectacular, so why waste the real estate on poor performers!). I took them out this year. Likewise the apricot. Last year, I took out an excellent producing pear tree, because it was just too crowded. So I'm working on an additional area to plant new peach, apricot, and nectarine trees.
Hopefully we'll get some good pomegranates (they're flowering now). We have way too many key limes. Fuji apples are getting big now too.
I'll go eat another plum now...
