OPPO - 83 share the .mkv files from DLNA server
« on: June 29, 2011, 02:01:04 pm »

I wonder if someone plays successfully MKV files via network using JRiver Media Center.
I set-up the DLNA server without translations. The file is visibly in Oppo-83. When I try playing the file the message about unsupported file appears on the screen.
The same .mkv file is played successfully from the USB memory stick and over the Network but using the Serviio free DLNA server.
Apparently there are some problems with the options of DLNA server. I could not figure out the proper parameters.
The JRiver Media center is in version 16.0.116. XP is the operating system. I can play the .mkv file both in Media Center and in other players installed in my computer.
Any Hints?

If you could, run a wireshark trace of the file playing sucessfully with serviio. If your video library consists entirely of mkv's you could probably solve the problem with the video mpeg override in the advanced options though it might require a particular string which we could find from the trace. If you do a trace, email it to bob (at) jriver (dot) com. You should start the trace right before browsing to the content and stop right after that.
