Morning,

I will be doing a rebuild of my primary workstation shortly and wanted some tips on how to best re-install MC while at the same time ensuring my libraries are available in the exact way they are now.

On this computer I use two main library locations - the default one - that is setup when MC is first installed. Currently I point this to MP3 files in the local My Music folder on this machine.

The second and most important library is one whose music (FLAC) AND library files are stored on my Windows Home Server. (SERVER\Music).  This library is my big kahuna and is the one that I use 99.9% of the time and religiously back up several times a day. The key takeaway here is - the actual path to the library files is \\SERVER\Music\Library Files. Nothing from this library is stored locally on the machine.

But every time back in the v15 days or older - when I attempted to restore a backup of this library - it would always attempt to become my DEFAULT (installing paths and files to the local machine which I do not want).

So my question is - do I really need to bother to restore a backup to get this library back in place in a new install or should can I just use Library Manager to add a new location - point it out the share library files and rock on? The library files are all current on the share - so I am thinking this should be fine?
