Media Jukebox Crashing When Renaming Files

I am using the Beta 8.0 and When I right click on an album and open properties, I get a dialog window
with all the fields. If I want to choose the genre for the album and change that for all songs in the
property window, the programs starts to save and then always crashes during the 5th to 6th song saved.
I am sooo upset, because I really like mediajukebox. It seems as if the naming in MJ is quirky as far
as file saving trinkets of data down to the database. Could someone tell me if I am doing anything wrong.

If you have a version prior to 8.0.284, please update.  MJ has not had crashing problems with properties.

Is it a particular file or file type?

My Version is: 8.0.248
Is this the most current 8 beta?
If not can you or someone give me a link.

It is just trying to modify the mp3 files
inner tag - like genre for an entire album.
It always crashes.

He probably meant 284. I've had MJ crash when editing through properties before. Not lately though.
I've even had MJ import unassigned properties in recent builds (again). ie: time 0:00, bitrate 0 etc. So it's not totally bug free yet.
note: I have not reported these as I'm not running the latest beta.

I hear ya on that. I've spent the last few hour updating drivers and programs. XP keeps crashing for some reason. It hasn't happened yet after doing this.

It could also be tagging from earlier MJ builds that corrupted the file. Back in the days (few months ago) when tagging was a problem (old style tagging), the files experienced some problems. It's the same files that are doing. Can't reproduce as it changes from every import. If I delete the file and reimport, it's fine. Most likely something on my end.

Patrick, if it happens on the same song, remove the tag and try it again. This has helped me out before.
