I don't normally use this option but was just experimenting with some config changes on the htpc and noticed that selecting this option in DSP-Output Format is only encoding 2 channels to DD output. I have 5.1 channels and JRSS surround mixing selected, clone side to rear same problem. Source material is 2 channel. I tried this on my main system and it does the same thing. One PC is on 16.0.164 and the other PC is on 16.0.156.
Just tested this with 5.1 channel source material and it is combining center and surround channels to the front L/R.

I use this feature every day at work, and it supports 2.0, 4.0, and 5.1 nicely for me.

Could your outboard decoder be in 2 channel mode?

Sorry, my mistake. I'm using GlissEQ and it was set to only to route 2 channels. I should have looked into it closer before posting.
