The Kids Music That's Not 'Kids Music' Playlist
« on: May 22, 2002, 06:07:20 am »

I've been thinking about playlists for the young ones.  Since he started to parrot everything back I realized that some of the lyrics of his beloved Elvis were not so appropriate.

And I want to make sure the good stuff is well rooted before the predations of Barney & co become an unavoidable reality.

I would love to hear about what great stuff your wee ones love, yall remember loving as wee ones.

The young son is primarily a fan of Elvis, but also likes Buddy Holly, Big Bad Voodoo Daddy...

Specifically I'm looking for ideas for a sun, moon, stars related one, starting with "Good Day Sunshine"

Somewhere over the Rainbow and It's a Wonderful World by Iz.  Hawaiian.  Simple and incredible.

"Singin' In The Kitchen" by Bobby Bare & his kids
"Daddy, What If" by Bobby Bare and son
"Gilly Gilly Ossenfeffer Katzen" by Max Bygraves
"Tongue Twisters" by Danny Kaye
"The Thing" by Arthur Godfrey
"Mairzy Doats and Dozey Doats" by Max Bygraves
All I Want For Christmas Is My Two Front Teeth" by Alvin and the Chipmonks
"I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus" by Arthur Godfrey
"Children's Marching Song" by Mitch Miller

I have a playlist of these and more for when the grandchildren (and soon, a Great Grandson) come to visit.
