confused about ripping from a CD
« on: September 11, 2012, 01:52:58 am »

I want to start ripping from my CD'S using MC17,but I am confused about the placement of the cd-rom
drive. I have MC17 installed on my Music server which has no storage,my storage is on a NAS which
is connected to my Music server through my network by ethernet. Do I connect my CD-ROM drive to
my Music server or to my NAS?

The music server.  If you're ripping using MC then the CD needs to be connected to the machine that MC is running on.

I do have a hard drive on my music server only 64GB when I rip from the cd will the ripped files go to this drive or the NAS. IF they don't go to the Nas how can I make them go?

In Options/File Location, there is a setting for the directory to put ripped CDs in (under Audio) and you can also specify automatic rules to name the resulting files with.
