Recognition of the cover art image embedded into mp4 files
« on: December 06, 2011, 08:22:22 am »

Hi,

I have MC16. I have a colection of mp4 video files with cover art image embedded into mp4 file.
With MC16, the program recognizes all metadata text of mp4 file but not recognizes the cover art. So I need add each photo for each mp4 file.

In MC17 exist the same problem? this bug is fixed? If not exist this bug I will update to MC17.

Clarify that use an external player to play mp4 files.

Thank you.

I am pretty sure MC started reading embedded images in mp4 in later versions of MC16.

I just uninstall the program completely. Then I returned to reinstall with the default settings.

Despite this the problem persists. The thumbnails are automatically generated but is not used the embedded image of mp4 file. The resulting images showed are the frame of the second 5 of each video.

So I want is that the program displays the thumbnail embedded in the MP4 file! NOT the image of second 5.

How to solve this?

Thank you very much!

Sorry for my poor english, I'm spanish speaker. You say that you need a sample video with cover embedded? If it is of course, I upload one video of youtube.

This is the link (3mb):
http://www.mediafire.com/?243y5wxc0edd1dn

If you add the new video to library, JRiver generate the cover from frame 5, not from embebed image of mp4 file. The text medatada is not problem, only the image. I edited tags with mp3tag.

This is a bug or problem of configuration?

thank you matt and Yaobing

Thanks for the sample video.  The problem is fixed in an upcoming new build.

One more thing, this problem will be fixed in MC 16 and MC17? or only in MC17?
Thanks!
