View Scheme & Custom Field Idea
« on: December 11, 2011, 01:12:21 pm »

Since getting MC it has been a big learning curve and most of setup has been implemented ad hoc style with little regard for tidyness..

Now I am in the process for cleaning everything up, which is quite difficult as I can't remember what is used and where..

Would it be possible to make to have a relationship scanner in MC? In it you could look at everything from two view points, view schemes or fields (With the option to hide stock fields, as my reason for this is to sort all my custom stuff out). Say for instance I viewed it from a field standpoint, nested under  would be the names of all the view schemes that it appears in (And also some other fields as some fields call upon fields in their expressional data). And if I were to view it from a view scheme stand point, nested below would a list of all fields that appear within that view scheme..

A combination of those views would make it much easier to spot what is being used and where it is being used.. I could then easily identify custom fields that have no purpose any more without fear of deleting some integral part to my setup..

Anyway just a suggestion, I don't know if you can do this with an excel style database but you can this sort of stuff in MS Access..

Thanks
