MKVs super fast and choppy
« on: December 27, 2011, 02:21:11 am »

system is i5 2500k, 8gb RAM, GeForce GT440.

MC17 works well for Audio. Using 17.0.60 as of tonight.

When I try to play h.264 MKV files of any type they play in fast-motion and super choppy.

could this be because i have ffdshow and haali installed on my system? I do some video work and need these.

I've got a similar issue, running i5 2300, with on chip graphics, I've tried everything, but j river has choppy audio/video when playing about half my mkv's. The same videos play fine in vlc, but I get constant stuttering that's only relived by closing jrmc and opening it again which gets me about another 5 min or so into the video without issue, then it stutters again.

Please try 'Red October Standard' in Options > Video.

Also, try 'WASAPI - Event Style' as the audio output with 100ms of buffering (audio controls the clock).

yes and yes, but sadly it hasnt worked.

Changing in and out of display mode doesnt help either. Pausing the video and playing again fixes it for 2 seconds or so. Bizarly, if i wait it out, when the scene changes in the video (chapter change?) it plays fine again for a couple of minutes.

I Thought it was fixed when I tried what you suggested by changing the buffering from 250ms to 100, but playing again thismorning, it seams no better.

Shutting the pc down and turning it on again, seams to give me longer before it runs into problems but that might just be my perception.

just turned videoclock off, this seams to have stopped the problem.

I would like videoclock on though!

Ideas?
