« on: January 10, 2012, 02:15:43 pm »

Hi

I am still having problems with my server refusing to play or rip any CDs. I have tried new driver, codecs etc and uninstalling.

This last time I uninstalled the WMP has found the album but media centre hasnt. It has shown a new message in the Rip progress window  have not noticed before.

' open drive failed. Parameter is out of range '

Rip failed

Does anyone know what this means and how I progress from here pleeeease   !

I think this is the error I have gotten when a character in the album name or track name is not a legal character for a Windows folder or file names. I get it occassionally on European CDs. I rename the tracks before ripping and it works. I never really figured out exactly what characters caused it. I just removed any special characters. If you get it on all CDs, it is probably a different problem.
