History:
1. Fixed: CDA files (from audio CDs) could get queued to burn dialog even though they are illegal for burning.
2. Fixed: In CD copy dialog box, some pixels would display incorrectly after bringing up options dialog.
3. Fixed: Some pop-up message boxes were still causing the cd copy dialog to disappear behind the MJ window.
4. Fixed: If a blank file naming rule was chosen by the user in file naming/location dialog, an incorrect default was chosen.
5. Fixed: Track Info pages would give a warning that control is unsafe.
6. Fixed: Removing not imported file from Playing Now would cause MJ to crash.
7. Fixed: mini-me: Menu's will "click through" to whatever is beneath them.
8. Fixed: MJ logo would not pain correctly if Auto-hide bars option was off.
9. Fixed: Video would not get resized properly when you start playing (auto-hide off, internal/windowed/full screen).
10. Fixed: Internet transfer cancelling faster and more stable.
11. Fixed: A lot of MJ menu issues have been solved.
12. Fixed: Using Shift Del in playing now would not update play order.

(1) I get a blue screen of death and some message about IRQ when trying to rip a cd from my HP 8200e. This worked fine up until a few builds ago, and ripping still works in (dare I say it), MusicMatch Jukebox.
(2) CDs still do not advance track-to-track in either analog or digital (though this works in MusicMatch....)

(3) When switching from Analog to Digital playback on my aforementioned HP CD-RW drive, digital playback becomes seemingly double-time for all files and digital CD playback until the computer is restarted.

This drive has always worked fine. Something in the builds must've changed, because it still works with other programs.

I think Replay Gain is acting up.

I have some files with the values entered and if I use |PLS|6 or so, then it sounds fine but when playing a track with no values, it gets all distorted. Clip protection is On.

Ripping behavior improved (Lite-On LTN486 48x Max) plus major hint.

The system freeze behavior I was seeing in 8.0.272 is gone.  Current behavior is at least that of 8.0.265/7, i.e., that ripping does not work in digital-secure (message: failed to read sector _; Incorrect Function), but works in other modes.

However, I stumbled on the feature that, unlike MJ7.2, MJ8 will rip while playing - a very neat trick!

You would think that this would make matters worse, but NO!  In fact, ripping in digital-secure seems to work fine (limited experience) as long as MJ is playing from that CD at the same time (even does it if it's playing the same track it's ripping, although it reports some problems).  So that's gotta be a major hint.

BTW, what is the "quality" number that's reported by digital-scure?

Videos are not resized for internal/full screen display. Windowed mode works now. Only happens when starting. If I resize, it's fine. Switch to full screen while playing, fine. Go back to internal while playing, fine.

Visualization isn't resized correctly in windowed mode. Player control at the top is covering part of it (Auto-Hide Off). Internal / Full Screen display works fine.

When changing video tracks, starting/stopping anything, auto-hide bar for windowed mode shows even if mouse is not over the window. When changing audio tracks, this doens't happen.

MJ loses focus when playing video files (double clicking in playlist/playing now/library etc). Mouse wheel then doesn't work.

Custom MJ menus now work for multiple monitors!! I gave it a good test. Thanks!

There's a bunch of appearance bugs in MJ. I've posted them in previous builds. Hope you guys plan on fixing them because they're driving me nuts!

Bug: since at least .272 I can't save images inside MP3s. Removing images stored inside MP3s isn't possible as well.
(no problem saving other tags, double checked with an external MP3 tagger)

These bugs are still present.

Gridlines are not redrawn properly when scrolling with the mouse wheel. Easy way to reproduce it: select a node from the Media Library tree, hover the pointer in the content view (don't click anywhere) and scroll with the mouse wheel.

Spectrum analyzer is still goofy:

Still unable to save notes or lyrics - this is the 3rd build now for which this behavior is present.

Shelly,
You may have other problems.  Try starting a new thread and explaing exactly what you're doing.

Some files could be read-only, for example.

After burning a cd, if I click on CD,DVD & Handheld in the organization tree I get this.  To get the correct information I must click on CD device. Then everything looks okay.

And if I drag artist column to the right, I get this

CD Labeler Print quality using cover art has horizontal lines 1/16" apart
from top to bottom when you print label. The lines are the same color same
length every time you print the label. The lines are various colors. I have printed this image in other Cd Labeler programs, and it looks great!

I don't know if you worked on this, but in this build the image has very little horizontal lines printing. However, there are still some showing up.This time they are very faint and do not extend completly across the image.

Also, when in CD Label Wizard, when I select Preview first than then print from the preview screen the file starts to spool but does not print.
If I print from CD Label Wizard it prints okay.

This problem still is happening. Is it me or you?!

Thanks

I must say that in this bild I have found too much fixs to be real; No more stuck of M.Library window slider, a better & more quick visualization and synchronization between music & video. Other more.
But I also wanted say that before upgrade to  273 I reinstalled over 272 the full installer v.8.265 & only after upgraded to 273, so I'm taken to think that many bugs report have to be connected to this and to the real state of your own Media JB.

For example Trelane, I've never seen your issue since 7-8 builds ago, but I got it me too; instead of the 2° report that I never sow it, like never got Easyrider's report.

So I think that revert to the old full 265v installing over your MJ version before upgrade to last version could help someone and fix something.

Or perhaps this last build is going to seems the version 280. Many compliments!  Next Page

Still in 8.0.266beta
Bug in 8.0.265beta - CD names not shown correctly

Still the process of reading the content of MP3 CDs is not real good. If
a CD, that shows up in the explorer as 'Complete_CDs_01', is read, the
section File Location shows (0x5601E92A) and the section CD and DVD media a
CD named 'unassigned'. If I add mores CDs, it still shows a single
'unassigned' folder instead of the real name of the CD. Out of 5 CDs
'Complete_CDs_01' through 'Complete_CDs_05' only the last showed with
correct name under CD and DVD media.

To show the content of a specific CD is therefore not straight forward!

Can this be changed?

Bug,
Playlists not working.
I created a playlist called: -=[ New Songs
I use the -=[ to make it appear at the top of the list (trick I use in explorer too).
Anyway, I can drag and drop as many songs as I want into it and none will show in it when I click on it.

Another Bug.
Importing files.
I have a bunch of Music Video's which I decided to import into Media Jukebox - I thought I'd be ultra slick and have the films for some of my songs.
It keeps getting hung up though on a .mov file if I try to import .mov file types.
The file itself is fine and I can watch it.
When it tries to import it though a stupid thing comes up from RealOne say it's trying to find an update and then that none are available.
I have the codec for this file type and it shouldn't need to find one.
Anyway, it then just sits there on that file and doesn't move and I have to kill Media Jukebox in order to use it again.

Also,
I have a bunch of video files with a .m2v extension.
Media Jukebox wont let me import them (not a recognised file type)
and if I try and drag and drop them into the playing now window to play them it wont let me either.
If I rename them to .avi then it lets me import them and it plays them fine which is a bit annoying as I dont want them renamed as .avi as they wont play in Windows Media Player which is my default for .avi files.

I'd like an option to either allow unrecognised files to be used (it just tries to play them, if it cant it says no instead of just not even trying) or the ability to add our own file types.
Could u guys please enter .mv2 files as a recognised file type as MJ plays them fine.

Thanks

Bugs:
1. The new ESC keypress and click away logic (added a few builds ago) during a Org Tree node rename is flawed.  If you press the ESC key during a node Rename (ie, a Media View node), MJ acts as if the Enter key was pressed and saves any node name change (to the affected media files).  The same ESC keypress in Content tree renames does NOT save the changes (it works as it should).  So, with this bug, there is no way to abandon node-based Renames (in the Org Tree).

2. The DSP dialog hides behind MJ main window and will not stay on top of MJ.  Is this by design?  (If so, it doesn't seem to useful that way.)

New bug - Introduced in the last build I guess cause it used to work fine for me.

Pressing:  d  e  s  t   doesn't take me to Destiny's Child but instead takes me to the first d, then the first e, then the first s etc which is annoying.
It used to work great and take me to the artist I wanted.

Also - Multimedia keyboards play, pause etc buttons are still working randomly when MJ is not in focus.

To Wolfgang:

Try opening the CD in MJ from the "CD,DVD, & Handheld" part of the tree berfore or after the import. I found that this would get MJ to read the CD volume name and properly add it to the "CD, & DVD" part of the tree in the library.

Regarding the WMA encoding bug I reported yesterday (WMA loses about 1 second at the end of tracks that run together), I received an excellent suggestion from Doof: try encoding the same CDs in WMP to determine if the bug is in MJ or Microsoft's WMA encoder. I'm afraid this revealed that the bug is indeed in MJ: the WMP version of the WMA encoder *does not* lose data at the end of the track, but the MJ version does.

CD's - when I put a CD in and view it it works great, if I change the cd though sometimes and go back to the cdrom drive it just shows the same cd and isn't updating to the new cd's info.

1)--Since 6-7 build, as said in my previous post, if I left click on 'GO Start' (it was 'Home' when working) in the tree I get an Internet Explorer error that translating say:
Impossible to find "D:\J River\Media Juke\Data\WebPages\HomePage\index.htm". Verify that Internet address will be correct.
If I right click on GO Start and Update Web Pages, MJ download web pages that I found at that above address, but with the same error.
In Regedit, trying to correct the address, seems not present that pages I found in D:\J River\Media Juke\Data\WebPages\HomePage\index.htm.
But just because images can be clearer than my poor english...

This is since the 'Home' became 'GO Start' in the tree:

2)--Since Win2K to XP & where this action (tree) works, I always drag & drop 'My Computer' icon in the 'Start menu' to have a full control of all my Hard Discs (it could be a Macintosh remembrance), in this way I can open every deeper folders by a double click, delete every elements or run every program just with a click.
From Mac to PC this HDs-Tree has become for me as 'the fourth long arm of mine Next Page' (I'm male), so I can't live whithout this tree and I can't believe to be alone in this. But unluckily if I 'Enable Media JB shell Integration' I cannot anymore open deeper folders loosing this great feathure. It is a very hard choice for me to choose between MJ' shell integration and my HDs-tree, but at the end decided against myself to disable MJ' shell integr. A big lost!
Well, I reported this issue many times without reply and I would like to know if it should be an hard work to fix, perhaps it is not.
Yes, MJ' shell integration is the only that gives to me this problem.

Many thanks & sorry if I used so many space here in this thread...

thanks for your reply, I suppose you have enabled in Setting\General  MJB shell Integration. If I enable shell integration I can open only the first line of subdirectory that is to say at Hard Discs level, i.e. C\, D\, E\, & so on like in my previous post image, but not the deeper folders over this level.
Then it could be an XP Pro related problem.
Me too have tryed to change My Computer name and attachment without find fix to this issue; the only one that I found is  unluckily disable Media JB shell Integration.

Thank you for your answer!
Stebajo

Trying to uninstall the slide show plug-in caused this error...

MEDIA JUKEBOX caused a general protection fault
in module GDI.EXE at 0001:00003afa.

I have a problem similar to that of 'starflyer' when ripping CDs.  I'm
using a Kenwood True-X CD, and Media Jukebox installed an ASPI component.
I started with all CDROMs set to autoconfigure.

Frequently, when I insert a CD into this drive (and also a Pioneer DVD writer)
Windows XP Pro crashes instantly, as if the reset button on the computer was
pressed.

Can this be fixed? Thanks!

If mega-me skinning is enabled you can't see a sample of the font when trying to change fonts.  It also doesn't list the same amount of fonts when skinning is enabled.  Is that supposed to only list the fonts that are compatibly with the current skin?  I installed a new mega-me skin and it said make sure to install the font.  Well the font that it wants is not available with the skin enabled.  I have to disable fonts.  Then switch fonts and then turn the skin back on.

And MJ kills my resources, only running at 9%.  Guess its time for a restart.  Its almost been 12 hours.

I have files belonging to playlists like "3.Categories/2.Subgenre/1.Slows" and "3.Categories/1.Decade/3.1980's"

When I insert in the TrackInfo templates TRACKINFO_INSERT_PLAYLISTS, then it shows only
"3.Categories/2.Subgenre | 3.Categories/1.Decade", and not the actual playlist itself.

Bug:
1. When renaming an Org Tree Media View node to update the tag data for a group of MP3s (like an Album...15 tracks or so) while MJ is playing other tracks, it takes MJ an excessively long amount of time (minutes) to update the affected MP3s.  In fact, I'm not sure the updates ever completed unless I clicked the Stop button to stop playback...otherwise, it seems like the updates would never finish.  I did not experiment with this a bunch, but I think the same update via a Context View rename (of a column) does not take near a long (based on past experience).

Brian_100:

While this suggestion won't fix your problem, it may get you closer to the cause.

Open 'My Computer' choose 'Properties', 'Advanced', 'Start Up and Recovery', 'Settings'. Uncheck 'Automatically Restart'.

This will allow the system to report it's errors without rebooting the system. The error may point you in the right direction.
