Presently .wtv files are imported with a blank field for frames per second.  Ideally I would like this field to be set to 50Hz for all .wtv files imported.

Does anyone know if this is possible?

Have you tried an auto-import rule?

I'm guessing you have JRiver watch a folder for new .wtv files with an auto-import. You should be able to tag these files on import with [FPS]=50

Thanks for your input.  I would love to try  an auto import rule, alas Wiki is not very helpful and I have failed miserably to find out how via the menus / options to apply a rule to imports.

Would you mind giving me some additional direction?

1. Tools > Import > Configure Auto-Import.
2. Select and Edit the appropriate folder where your .wtv files reside.
3. At the bottom of the Folder Settings dialog, select Add to add a new auto-tag rule; select Custom
4. Select FPS from the pull down, and set the value to
   
   ifelse(isequal([File Type], wtv), 50)

The file can't be already imported, or MC won't run the auto-import rules.

Many thanks for your guidance.  Your proposal works, unfortunately the rule has the undesirable effect of stopping the all other film frame rates from being filled. I also tried 'don't apply to fields already filled' but the rule then assumes that .wtv fields are filled in spite of them being blank ?

Are the other video files Windows Media Type?

If not then you could have one rule for Windows Media and one rule for non windows media. You can do this by subselecting the video subtypes. You can have more than one rule for each folder I think. Unfortunately it isn't possible to just select .wtv and not the other Windows Media types in the auto import I think. Otherwise you may be able to set WMC to save TV in a different folder to your other media, but I've never used WMC so I don't know if this is possible.

Brilliant, indirectly you have solved my problem.  Since my recordings are kept in a separate folder I only applied the rule to that folder and of course it does not affect other folders.

When I was testing I was throwing everything into a single test folder
