any ideas please? its very annoying

basically it seems that if I use the bar to choose where to navigate to in a video - 90% or so of the time the video/audio will be in sync

but if I use fwd/rwd buttons high chance (50% or so) that Video and Audio become WAY out of sync - a good two or three seconds out of sync

once out of sync, evne using bar doesn't receover it - only way is to stop playback of video, restart playback and it resumes from where it was - but with video and audio in sync

its rather annoying - any ideas ? I'm using RO HQ

same files have no issues with XBMC etc etc

I'll give that a try thanks

I really like the quality of MadVR though ...

doyou think the Sync issues are something re timing between MadVR and the Sound ? or just my PC not having enough grunt ?

It takes a pretty good PC to manage with madVR.  You could run MC's benchmark program under Help and paste the results here.  I'd guess that a benchmark of 2000 or 2500 is needed.

You could try checking "videoclock" under MC's options for video.  But if the machine isn't powerful enough, it probably won't help.

For comparison I am using MadVR on Bluerays in full HD with an JRMark at 1501. The Image benchmark scores 1330.

I fear that this is a problem for fast computers as well. I have Asrock3d HTPC which should be enough I think. The fwd/rwd operations makes the sound out on sync for RO Standard as well for me. I DO still use the latest build of MC16 though, so things might have changed. I'll find out more about that tomorrow when I take the plunge to MC17.

cheers

I'll try the benchmark on my 2 computers (HTPC and main computer)

HTPC is a E7400 clocked at 3.45 gig with a ATI 6750

whats difference between Red October HQ and Red October Standard with MadVR selected ?

or is it practically the same ?

I am using MC b17 Red October Standard.

The out of sync has been an issue for me for quite a while. I was told that a slight move on the mouse wheel (IF USING ONE) will fix it but unfortunately for some movie it does not work at all and it is very annoying. If we miss something in a movie we are too scared to rewind.

This is a BIG problem for me as well.

Using RO standard with AC3Filter.

The number of times I've gone to rewind TV so my wife can watch something she's missed only to have this happen and I end up being in to poo is getting beyond a joke  :'(

I had this happen last night too. Lipsync was waaaay out after a seek, it was a goto most recent position seek in the context menu, so I didn't really expect a problem since it should've just spewed out the most recent bit of the jtv file. Sync was out by like 2-3 seconds.

First time it's happened for me, but then I haven't used timeshifting much until now (now that DVB-T2 is fixed/added - yay thanks Yaobing!).

I'll have a play over the next few days to see if it was a one off or reproducible for me.

I've donesome more investigating on this and found the following with version 46.

DTV in .jtv format -

Can FF and REW and stay in sync, but change channel and it loses sync.

.ts format -

Can change channel and keep sync, but not FF or REW.

I get similar problems when pausing playback of iso DVD files. Results in sync issues and tearing of the image. Running latest stable MC17 ROHQ on an i7 870 with W7 x64 and 4GB RAM. Seem machine should be tuff enough?
