MC17 and Windows XP 32Bit vs. Windows 7 64Bit as OS
« on: April 08, 2012, 12:56:48 pm »

My existing systems both work with Windows XP 32Bit and ASIO drivers of Lynx TWO-B and in a second system with RME Fireface UC.

Now I am thinking to change to Windows 7. Which disadvantages I will get with MC17 if I rest with Windows XP?

Lynx and RME offer indeed driver for Windows 7 64Bit though without WASAPI support.

Is it better therefore to stay with Windows XP?

Windows 7 is the better operating system, but Media Center works fine with either.

What video/sound compromises are there between the two, assuming I use HDMI for both?  Video is HD, some SD, and music is ripped CD flac as well as some 5.1 flac (DVDA/SACD/DTS rips).  Using TheaterView
