Strange issue with Samsung Smart TV
« on: June 09, 2012, 03:37:18 am »

I am seeing a strange issue with a Samsung Smart TV (UE46ES7000).
BTW I am using the latest MC17 (17.0.175).

When I connect from the Smart TV to MC17 via DLNA everything works just fine.
I can see all the playlists and play music or videos.

But when I try to control the Smart TV from MC17 (running on a PC), I can see the
Smart TV listed, but I cannot send content to it and I get this error:

"There was a problem controlling the selected DLNA device"

Any suggestions ?

Update to 17.0.170 (your build is in the future!).
Make sure DLNAExtra is checked under advanced in the DLNA server configuration.
Try something simple like just an mp3.
Report back,
thanks..

I am on  17.0.170 and I do have "DLNA Extra"

The behavior is inconsistent.

From the TV I can always connect to MC17 and play songs from a playlist

But when I send music (a single song or a playlist) to the Smart TV, sometime it works
and often it does not.

With the error message:
"There was a problem controlling the selected DLNA device"

You should make sure windows media player sharing is off since it's also a controller and can conflict with MC. Also, any other DLNA controllers on other machines should not be talking to the TV at the same time.
