Reaffirmed why I like MJ
« on: April 29, 2002, 12:41:54 pm »

Heard there was a web sever plugin (apache) for WinAmp so I reinstalled WinAmp and the apache plugin.  While the Web server plugin worked like a chanmp and even my Audreys were able to communicate with WinAmp I suddenly realized just how much more professional MJ is over WinAmp.  I'm not the sharpest knife in the drawer but I find WinAmp not intuitive at all and very cumbersome to use and manage.  We are clearly on the downside in terms of bugs in MJ ver 8 and MJ is absolutely superior to WinAmp IMHO.  I am also confident that one day the Web Remote plugin will be fixed and I wont have much to ##### about except that the beer isn't cold enough.  Good work guys.

Thanks for the kind words.  And for the reminder about the problem.  We will look at it.

Just curious if you were part of the Big Buy of Audreys over at avsforum, and if you know if anyone else is trying to get this going.

I don't know of any power buys at AVS Forum.  The I-Appliance board at linux-hacker.net (very active community) had a power buy at one time through TigerDirect and that is where I got mine.  At the time they were $85 each which was a steal especially when you consider they will run QNX and all the utilities and most of the applications including voyager and Java.  I seem to recall someone else on one of the Audrey boards was trying to get another power buy organized.  Phat Phreddy at AVS/Home Theater PC forum sponsored the power buy for the Fujitsu PT 510 but I did not participate.
