BUG: Special characters still a problem
« on: September 27, 2012, 12:52:03 pm »

I read that there had been some work on the font engine. I think there still are some problems. Characters like ★☆ will still not appear correctly on 1 of my 3 MC PC's. After upgrading to build 50, my other two PC's showed the characters correctly. Other character like √ works just fine.

Is there any way for me to help you identify the problem here?

What font are you using in Options > Tree & View?  And what operating system?

The font was Segoe UI. Tried to change it to Segoe UI Symbol and about 15 other fonts. The characters are allways presented as a simple hollow square.

I'm running Win 7 Pro English (Norwegian locale settings), 64 bit SP1 on 3 PC's.

Two of those work like they are supposed to. My workstation computer does not show the characters the right way. The characters are saved correctly in the caption field. I can copy and paste back and forth. But they do not look like stars in the caption option field or in theater view.

What settings can possibly affect this? I can try what ever except for reinstalling the OS :) That have to wait a bit.

I've attached a partial screenshot of what is supposed to be stars. They are colored green.
