DTS-MA Decoding issues
« on: December 13, 2012, 09:44:27 am »

I've been using MPC-HC, Madvr, reclock, LAV filters and the Arcsoft DLL for watching Blu-rays with great success.  The only disc that would not play properly with this setup was Baraka.  I would get popping noises frequently.  I installed Media Center 18 and love the program.  The only issue I've had occurs with non standard DTS-MA tracks, specifically The Poseidon Adventure (4.0) and Carnage (5.0).  The Poseidon Adventure gives me an error stating that it cannot play the film as 4.0 24, use 2.0 24.  Carnage plays OK with no errors but the dialogue track is missing.  These titles play fine with MPC-HC.  I'm running Red October HQ.  My video card is a GTX 680.  It seems the program is not mapping the channels properly.  Any suggestions?

I think you just need to configure DSP Studio > Output Format to deliver a format your hardware supports.

Other programs go through the Windows mixer and let Windows do any mixing.  This isn't really the best if audio quality is a priority.
