MJ8 248 and Multiple User Accounts with WinXP
« on: April 13, 2002, 06:02:14 am »

I have a machine with Windows XP Home and multiple logon accounts for each member of our family. I installed MJ 8 (build 248) on my adminstrator account. When I change users (even if they are also winxp admins, they don't have any shortcuts to MJ. I tried to create a shortcut to the exe file but this does not work. I had to reinstall again with each user account to make MJ work for each person. How will the final build of MJ handle multiple user accounts in WinXP?

Thanks KingSparta! That is exactly what I did and both accounts with MJ installed work fine.

What about when you upgrade to a new build? Do you need to keep reinstalling or updating the software for every user?

Ravman - U dont need to reinstall it.
All you have to do is to create the shortcuts in the start menu.

I'm not sure if you know how to use windows explorer but if you dont then u should learn.

I DO know how to use Explorer and I DID try creating shortcuts, but MJ8 crashed if running from another user account. The only way it would work was to reinstall under the other WinXP account.
