I have burned some CD's with mp3 files, and I can load the song names into the Music Library, but if I don't have that CD in the drive when I try to play the song, it fails to find it, but can't tell me WHICH CD the song is on!
Why doesn't the Music Library keep track of the NAME of the CD (or Disk Volume Name) instead of just the drive letter? It doesn't give me any clue as to WHICH CD the song is on, only that it was loaded from the Y: drive (my CDROM); Can I configure it to put the name of the CD into the path, so that when it asks me to put the CD into the drive, I'll know which CD the song is on?  Is there any mp3 jukebox software that will do this?

Take your pick!  I'm currently one version behind on MJ - 7.1.x, but the question is really directed at trying to find an mp3 jukebox/player that will prompt me for the volume name of the CD from which the song was loaded into the Media Library. This would seem easy enough for the developers to do, but I can't find a jukebox/player that does it!  They just show the path to the CD drive letter, i.e. E:\ or Y:\ and then show the folder hierarchy in which the song exists, but DOESN'T show the CD volume/name designation so I can put the right CD in the drive to listen to the song.   I'm pleading for suggestions

Try Media Jukebox 8.0. It does what you ask.

Just tested it in MJ 8.0

I just placed a CD in the drive, let MJ read it, it logs it in as a cd-rom.

if you use the "Find" option it will not search the info on the logged cd-roms.

if you go to the cd and dvd list and click on it it will tell you basicly to get the cd and put it in the drive by telling you it can't find it.

Right, but it tells you which CD it wants.

At least it does with Audio CD's. I haven't tried this with Data CD's (which I just noticed is what coolhand is asking about).
