Media Center Remote doesn't work
« on: January 15, 2013, 05:44:02 am »

I've ordered a J River Media Center remote from J River and it arrived today.
I hook the USB IR Receiver to my USB port of my PC, and try to initiate the remote control setup wizard via Tool/options/remote control..
when I click the 'Next' button, I run into an error message: "you don't appear to have a Media Center receiver connected to your computer. Please connect it and try again"

however, when I click on the window button on the remote, the Window media center show up. (seemingly the remote is connected to the pc and work)

I also noted, under 'device and option' the following two (of the 4) Selected input devices  are ticked:
microsoft MCE (active);
remote, keyboard, gamepad or other HID (active)
(in other words, IR man, USB-UUIRT are not active)

Can anybody help and advise what should I do to make the remote work with J River?  Thanks a lot.

I'm using 64bit version of Windows 7
I've read the instructions in the webpages but they are useless in solving my problem.

Which version/build of MC are you using? I think Matt may have found a similar problem recently, in which case it would be fixed soon. It may or may nto eb the same problem as you're seeing though.
