PEQ bug in the last few builds?
« on: February 11, 2013, 03:41:51 pm »

So I have a Left and Right channel mute at the top of my list in the PEQ window so I can mute one channel at a time when working on my active speakers without individually muting each channel in my interface software. However, in the last couple builds the mute boxes will get selected when I open MC after closing it, so I have to uncheck them every time I fire up MC. More than once I'm thinking "wtf where's the sound" and start trouble shooting the settings, my interface, etc. Anybody else getting this?

I'll bump my own thread........anybody else having this problem? Not a huge deal being as it's only doing it to the Mute functions........but it could be a problem if it happened on a tweeter high pass if a guy didn't use a protection cap.......

I can't reproduce this.  I add and configure a Mute in Parametric Equalizer.

Then I restart and it's still there and working.

Any other clues?

I can't reproduce it either on my work computer. On my HTPC at home I have an L and R mute for checking subwoofer levels permanently set in PEQ and it hasn't self-muted.

I just noticed it only does it (and every time) I close the Media Server. I just did it 5 times in a row, it selected the 2 mute functions that I had deselected when I closed MC and the Media Server. It also selects 2 previously unselected equalizer filters in the other PEQ box which I'm not using ATM. There's about 15 filters in that one total, all unselected, and it's picking the same 2 every time.

Would you create a new test zone and see if it also does it?

Which version of MC18 are you using?

I'm on 18.0.129, it's done the same thing the last few builds.

I've got another zone set up for headphones, and it's doing the same thing. I'll deselect the top 10 or so eq functions, close MC and Media Server, and when I re-open MC it will select a few of the functions that I unchecked. It consistently picks the same ones as well.

Just to be sure, this is a 'Mute' filter in Parametric Equalizer (and not in Room Correction, volume, etc.)?

Yep, a Mute filter for the left channel and a Mute for the right. They are the first two filters in the PEQ, before the channel mixing filters for my active speakers. This way I can mute one or the other in MC without going to the Firewire interface software.
