Odd Track-1 behavior in MJ

Has anyone noticed -- or have any clue about why -- that MJ records the first track -- but only the first -- on a new CD as blank or with a 0 volume level? This has happened to me several times now, and I can't figure out what the problem is. It's running under Windows 2000 with a Plextor CDRW drive, and in general everything else works fine. It _is_ rather ironic to do almost everything with MJ but then have to fall back to my EZ CD Creator to actually _burn_ disks that play.
