VST plugin meters...
« on: March 04, 2013, 07:15:44 am »

Been playing around with some audio monitoring VST plugins (TT Dynamic Range, Nugen VISLM)...

There is an option for plugins to ignore Internal Volume, but it still considers other DSP, in particular Volume Levelling, which gives curtailed results in the plugins.

Is there a way of ignoring ALL DSP so that plugin sees the raw audio data?  I can turn off DSP for the duration of monitoring but this is not ideal.

It would be nicer if there was an "ignore all dsp" option?

Am I missing something?

DSP is a chain of changes, and there's no way to undo changes that have been made earlier in the chain.

If you move DSPs up in the chain (drag-n-drop), they'll come before later changes.

Just remember that Output Format and Volume Leveling must come first (and a message box will explain it if you try to move them).

You can use CTRL + click to turn on/off other DSP without leaving the DSP you are currently viewing. This makes it easy to see the effects other DSP are having while monitoring in one particular DSP.
