Playback stops
« on: March 15, 2013, 09:46:00 am »

Start latest version of 18...plays fine sounds great then stops.

Fix: unplug computer, unplug USB speakers. plug computer back in restart Windows 32. Open device manager >sound video, plug in USB speakers. see that Windows "Recognizes" device. Open 18 >playback options see if device is listed click on if yes.

Start playback.  sounds great plays great, but some time it stops again more often sooner than the last time, clicking STOP sometimes resets the cycle until it doesn't work.

Describe the audio device you're playing to.  Just USB speakers?

When it stops, is MC still responsive and the playback progress bar moving?

When it happens again, go to Windows Control/Panel/Sounds.  Can you get any sound there?

This sounds like a hardware issue.  Try using the audio out port on the PC.

Out put to USB speakers plugged into back of computer USB input, When it stops both the sound bar and the sound graphic stop. buttons show that I can still pause the track even though it isn't playing.

Try the control panel test when it happens again.

Try the audio output on your PC.

I've noticed that windows sounds don't play at start up, when this occurs 18 won't play either. is this problem linked to the 18 stop playing episodes.

What happens if you try the same test _after_ MC stops playing?

Test the audio out port also.

Test it how? when the music stops playing it has failed the test, the music stops when 18 stops playing the signal comes out of 18 into what before it reaches audio out.
I have an M-Audio sound card,, realtek is installed ive tried both as default.  Drivers are up to date. library is located on an external drive that is formatted in FAT 32 as I often down load 100 albums onto a Magnum flash drive for use in my truck sound system (Alpine JBL).
this problem has arisen in the last year, before everything worked properly..to that end I formatted and re installed Windows 7 32..clossas pain that didn't solve the problem..the 18 program was re downloaded from my account on your site to screen out the possibility that the back up file was corrupt....
