It looks like films have a fixed size and artwork is cropped so that they all fit in the same height.
Unfortunately while there are options for padding the thumbnail spacing, it doesn't seem to expand the width of the thumbnail.

I guess this is because film posters should be a fixed size/aspect ratio, but I have at least a couple of films in my library where that is not the case and the sides are getting cropped off.

I'm not sure that there is anything that can be done unless the developers make a change to how thumbnails are handled.

Thanks, that fixes it here - though I need to increase thumbnail spacing to the largest setting to keep art displayed with the same vertical height, even when it should not be necessary.

At the current scale, when they are displayed at the same height, the cover is 229px wide.

The selection box is 219px wide at "small", 256px wide at "medium", and 384px wide at "large" - so it should only be necessary to use medium padding to keep them at the same height, rather than large. (which looks ridiculous)

I think I'll just leave it cropping the thumbnails as it was doing - I prefer to keep the vertical height consistent, and anything more than "small" padding is too much.
