Am I able to import plug-ins that are for WinAmp to be used in Media Jukebox. If I am able to, then how can I import them into Media Jukebox format.

MJ supports Winamp plugins.  Just copy them to the appropriate folder.

Thanks for the quick reply. I also wanted to know how I can modify the 3D skins of Windows Media Player so I can use it for Media Jukebox.

The plugins don't have to be in the MJ folder. If you have them installed to Winamp, then go to MJ's plugin manager, select the type of plugin, click 'add plugin', browse to the location of the plugin (C:\Program Files\Winamp\Plugins\sample_plugin_name.dll), click 'ok'.

I am trying to use the MAD input plugin for Winamp in MJ 7.2. I copied the in_mad.dll from the Winamp directory to the MJ plugin directory.  After I "added plugin" through MJ plugin mgr I restarted MJ and did not see the MAD plugin.  In general, when adding a plugin with this method do you need to take additional steps for the plugin to be recognized?

Thanks

I'm not sure of this, but give it a try.

It appears to me that you now have 2 mp3 input plugins in use. This could be confusing MJ.  Try using the Plugin Manager to uninstall the old mp3 input plugin so that you only have the MAD plugin being used.

No that doesn't seem to help either. I really want to use the MAD mp3 plugin 'case you then can playback 24bit mp3:s.

Thanks for the reply.

I tried your suggestion, logically it made sense but it didn't work. MJ still did not register the plugin. Must be extra code in a MJ plugin to get it to register.  What I did to get it to work was:
Rename the default MJ in_mp3.dll to something MJ wouldn't recognize e.g. mjin_mp3.dll
Copy the MAD plugin in_mad.dll to the MJ plugin directory
rename in_mad.dll to in_mp3.dll
It works

I thought Some If Not All the WinAmp plugins were no longer compatable in version 8

I See JimH Said They Should Work

Hi,
Please note that the above method does not actually "install" the MAD plugin. When you open Plugin Manager you will still see the default Mp3 Plugin listed.  However, MJ will now be using the renamed MAD .dll instead of it's default Mp3 .dll.

For CyberMaven: To select 24 bit decoding
Open Plugin Manager
Browse to Mp3 Plugin
Select Configure
Set for 24 bits under "Resolution"

I haven't looked at Version 8 yet.  My posts are referring to Version 7
