Welcome.

This means the OS version reported to the installer and executable don't match.

It happens if some compatibility mode is used on either side by Windows or security software.

After an install of the latest, what do you see here using regedit.exe:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\JRiver\Media Core\Installations\Media Center 18\OS Version

It should be 1009 (0x3F1 in hex) on Windows 7.

I got it working.   I went to properties and changed operating system to windows 7.  I then found the other problem was Comcast Constant Guard was closing program as unsafe.  I uninstalled that program and now it works.

Glad to hear it's working.

We get a report like this about once a month.  I wish I knew what was turning on the compatibility mode.  Maybe it's always 'Comcast Constant Guard'?

Just to be clear, JRiver does not recommend or need any compatibility modes on any operating system.  They will only lead to problems, like the one you encountered.
