DSD signal
« on: June 27, 2013, 08:29:48 am »

I am using the new Marantz na11s.

When I play those DSD signal music and I find that some of them could be played. It shows DSD 2.82...... in the Marantz display.

When I try to play the other kind of DSD signal, there is no sound come from Marantz and it surprisingly shows the PCM 176.4...... in the Marantz display.

The bitstreaming format was set at DSD over PCM(Dop) and it works for the first case. There is no sound from the second case.

My friend recommends me to change the bitstreaming format to DSD but it doesn't work for both cases.

I believe that it is the problem come from my PC notebook set up of JRiver.

Please advise any changes is required to play all the DSD files?

If you're using DoP, you can only play 1x DSD.  So if you happen to have 2x DSD files, you'll need to play them as PCM.  Look at the 'Sample Rate' column in MC to check.  1x DSD is 2822400 Hz and 2x DSD is 5644800 Hz.

You can configure DSD to play at a sample rate your hardware supports using DSP Studio > Output Format > Sample rate.
