What's the Best Way to Organize 10 tb of music?
« on: June 27, 2013, 02:07:41 am »

Hi, using JRiver 18 on Win8 with Zuma server with lots of memory, SSD, etc.  I have about 6tb of AIFF files on one ESATA drive, and about 4 tb of hi-rez files on another 6 tb Esata drive.  JRiver will of course easily see both drives.  But I'm wondering what's the best way to organize it for JRiver playback.

Should I make 2 playlists, one with the AIFF files and 1 with the Hi-Rez or just keep it 1 playlist?  I'd want to be able to easily see the resolution of the files in my playlist.

Thanks.

It doesn't matter whether you use multiple libraries or signle libraries or multiuple playlists or just one large playlist, if the resolution of your files is in the tags somewhere then you will always be able to view it.

I would recommend a single library.

Inside the library, explore using Library Views to see files the way you like.
