[18.0.206] Japanese character support
« on: August 03, 2013, 08:45:20 pm »

Hello. :)

So recently, I noticed that, for whatever reason, metadata containing Japanese characters is no longer displaying properly. All artist names, song titles, &c. are displaying as boxes.

See attachment for example.

I am using the standard font.

As far as I can tell, this is only true for Japanese characters; I have one or two tracks in Arabian and German (the esszet) and they're displaying fine.

You might try other fonts in Options > Tree & View.  Make sure the font supports those characters in a word processor.

Not working; I've selected several fonts. None of them are displaying Japanese characters correctly, and neither is Segoe IU, the default.

Could you post some sample text here that others could test inside MC?

Thanks.

I had that problem with Chinese characters, and solved it by changing my Windows region/language to Chinese and back.
