I WISH I COULD RIP & BURN CDS W/ MINE

Media Jukebox keeps closing down when i run it, I can't get it to do anything. There is a run time error and the program "has performed an illegal operation". I'm told to contact the vendor if the problem continues. This is the only way to contact you so maybe you can email me to let me know that you have read this and what can be done to solve my problem.

What version are you running?  MJ8 is a beta, as in "expect problems; you are participating in developmental testing".  If you want the rock-solid version, for now use MJ7.2.  Also, there were several versions of beta-8 that were more stable in some ways.  Just keep in mind that in beta testing you should expect problems.

All responses are channeled through the forum, both by developers and other users who know what they're talking about (generally not me). Post specifics of your problem: exactly what happens, what else you're doing when it does, details of error messages, version of MJ, system info (drop-down menu from help, save to clipboard), time of day, weather, traffic conditions, etc. You'll get necessary feedback, along with bad jokes, car talk and general irrelevancies. Welcome aboard.

Harry

That response should be added to the FAQ.

If you're thinking: "You're asking for a lot of info," you're right. That's waht it takes to provide a specific answer to your specific problem Otherwise you get generic responses, such as "try an uninstall/reinstall." Think about it this way--if you called Tech Support, they'd be asking you for this info, wouldn't they? Here, you just have to write it instead of saying it.

As HtH said--welcome!
