Install problem
« on: August 20, 2013, 07:17:07 pm »

Tried to run the .exe file but ran into this problem

Install Wizard could not copy the necessary files to the destination folder

Please ensure that the file 'C:\Program Files (x86)\J River\Media Center 19\JRDisc.dll' is not in use

Help please...

I'm not running my JRiver MC at the moment.

Sorry, but I'm not sure.  It's not a common problem.

You could try disabling any middle-ware (virus, internet security, etc.).  Or you could try downloading again.

Its your anti-virus IMO --- jrdisc.dll is probably in quarantine or erased which is why you are getting the message

Are you using Bitdefender? see this http://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?topic=82804.msg565614#msg565614

And PLZ send a copy to those idiots so they hustle and remove this as a false positive. Bump Astromo's post here http://forum.bitdefender.com/index.php?showforum=138 and submit jrdisc.dll to them (instructions on the sticky) as false positive. misinterpreted as Virus name: Gen:Variant.Ursnif.21

If you are using another AV, try this

1- turn off your AV for 5 minutes ...
2- download the newest 19 patch form the forum and reinstall; remove the downloaded patch
3- in Your AV exclude the file jrdisc.dll in the JR 19 root directory then
4- turn your AV back on -- should work

Yes, I am using bitdefender.  Will try your suggestion when I get home this afternoon.  Thanks.

Finally upgraded to the MC19 by first uninstalling then re-installing the MC18.  Don't ask me what happened to the previous problem but it just disappeared when I did this procedure.
