Dedicated GPU vs. Integrated
« on: December 03, 2013, 08:41:44 pm »

I'm upgrading my GPU from my desktop and I'm curious whether putting the one I'm taking out into my htpc would have any benefit.  The htpc has an Intel I3-550 with integrated graphics.  The card I have available is a radeon 5770.  Obviously the 5770 is a much better gpu, but since I don't play games on the htpc and it already plays movies fine, could there be any real benefit to it?  Just curious to get a second opinion before I sell it.

I think with the 5770 you can run ROHQ with good MadVR settings.

I doubt an i3-550 integraded (HD300??) can do MadVR very well.

Personally I think it would be worth it to put in the HTPC.

Which RO mode are you running?
