Adding Field to View
« on: October 20, 2013, 09:02:00 am »

My very first post...just began ripping my entire CD collection. I've done some reading but I'm afraid I'll have a series of fairly newbie questions anyway. First up: In the standard view under Audio, I simply want to add the "composer" category to the list. If I right click on customize view, that doesn't seem to help. Thanks

Right-click on the field bar and check (or uncheck) the field you want. You can also drag the fields to new positions with the mouse.

Sorry to be dense. If I right click on "Audio" I just get: Play, Add to Playing Now, More Play Options, Send to, Add Library View, Customize view.

Currently Under Audio, I have Albums, Artists, Files, Genres, Panes, 3D Albums, Connected Media. I want to add "Composer".  Thanks

I get it. Sorry: I answered the wrong question.

Right -click Audio
Choose Add Library View
Choose "Empty View" and type "Composer" in the "name" field
Click OK
On the left of the next dialog box, choose "Categories" in View As
In the box below, Add "Composer" and "Name" with composer at the top.
Click OK
Choose your brand new "Composer" Library View
On the Composer tab at the top. click the little black arrow choose the "details" view

Hope that helps

There's a couple of links below you might find useful as you delve into view creation. Although quite old, the second brings the first up-to-date as of v17, and I don't think there have been any major changes in the process since then.
